The Pacific

It is a wholesome and necessary thing for us to turn again to the Earth and in contemplation of her beauties to know of wonder and humility.

Rachel Carson

Going to the Pacific ocean I saw flocks of pelicans careening through the sky. I am rarely impressed by seagulls, though they were around also. The sandy beach was mostly ground rock and shells. A few tiny shells were in tact. The rocks were interesting and several went into my pockets. It was chilly, windy and foggy. I enjoyed it nonetheless.

A moment of clearing and we could see the handiwork of men as fog cleared from one end of the Golden Gate Bridge,

Can you imagine being on the boat there?

We went on a drive and saw cattle of almost every description. Then I saw Elk and Bob thought I was teasing until he saw them, too. Even spotted a coyote. And these massive aged trees.

That is NOT a cow!

Yes, Rachel Carson, a day to know of wonder and humility.
