Lent

A time in the church calendar, forty days before Easter, a time for self-examinations and drawing closer to the LORD Jesus Christ. Was reading a Lenten devotional from Rabbit Room. I was reminded of my sin. Our Pastor is preaching on the Ten Commandments. I was reminded of a different sin. This song is floating around in my brain and soul. Then last night I heard it played on Air 1. I thought I had only heard it on You Tube music by Brandon Lake.

The chorus is so appropriate for Lent and self-examination. “My sin was deep, Your grace was deeper, My shame was wide, Your arms were wider, My guilt was great, Your love was greater still. Based upon Ephesians For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:14-19
