Berries as Wedding Reminder

We were married in 1970 under a Juniper tree in Live Oak Park, Berkeley, California. Ever since then whenever I see berries like the ones below I am reminded of that day in the park! I cannot say that I have ever seen a Juniper tree as large and lovely as the one we were married beneath, but cedar trees seem to give similar berries. The website “Spiceography” mentioned that both eastern red cedar trees (Juniperus Virginians) and Juniper trees (Juniperis Communis) produce berries that are a dark blue and about the size of large peppercorns.

This September will mark 48 years of marriage accomplished!  Amazing that it has been that long since I met Bob under the Juniper tree to exchange our vows. See the huge tree trunk behind Bob and the priest!
